NEW Blood Lead Procedure
FACT SHEET Contox ZnP Controls
|
- The first human blood based Stable Control/Calbrator since 1984.
- Its application and stability in monitoring the calibration of hematofluorometers was comprehensively field tested/evaluated simultaneously at over 50 Lead Screening Centers in New York City, New Jersey and South Carolina beginning January 1985 until December 1987, totaling over 250,000 determinations using both Aviv & ESA instruments.
- It is stable for at least 90 days when stored refrigerated between 2-8 degrees Celcius.
- Contox ZnP Control are shipped cold for minimal exposure to room temperature during transit.
- Independent studies have proved it to have the most accurate assigned target values when compared with other commercially available products. (Clin. Chem. 1990)
- It has unique calibration characteristics in having a slightly positive low-end and a insignificantly negative High-end ZnP value bais, when compared to FEP values on actual patient specimens, a preferred feature.
- Using several lots of Contox – ZnP Controls as part of the Protofluor-Z Hematofluorometer evaluation in June 1987, a cutoff of approxiamately 70 with and 55 without the use of the Protofluor Reagent was recommended.
- Primarily recommended as a Control to cross validate manufacturers calibration/standard material with a technology different preparation and thus comply with acceptable Quality Assurance Protocol.
- May be used for ALL models of Hematofluorometers, Aviv, ESA and Helena instruments.
- Available in Tri-level 1.2 ml/vial or even more economical 2.2 ml/vial formats.
